Trouble installing patched/unsigned Windows 10 (Version January 2021) drivers – “The hash for the file is not present …”

The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering.

  1. Select the “Start” button.
  2. Type “startup”.
  3. Select “Change advanced startup settings“.
  4. Select “Restart now” under the “Advanced startup” area.
  5. Select “Troubleshoot“.
  6. Select “Advanced Options“.
  7. Select “Startup Options“.
  8. Select “Restart“.
  9. Press “7” on your keyboard to choose “Disable driver signing enforcement“.

Now the “device driver signing” should be disabled to install the patched driver in Windows 10 (Version January 2021) until you restart.

  1. Extract driver to disk
  2. Select the “Start” button.
  3. Type “system”.
  4. Select “Device Manager“.
  5. Connect Webcam to USB.
  6. Rightclick Camera.
  7. Select “Install driver“.
  8. Select “From Disk“.
  9. Select Folder/Subfolder.
  10. Accept “Allow unsigned driver installation”.

Done 🙂
